Titan XI: Closed Beta Notice

During live beta testing, several serious exploits were discovered that may have compromised server integrity and gameplay fairness. As a precaution, Titan XI has temporarily transitioned to a closed beta while we investigate the extent of these issues, address vulnerabilities, and restore a fair and stable experience for everyone.

Server reopening is currently TBA. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work toward welcoming adventurers back to Vana’diel.

More Natural Recruit Conversations

Recruits now give varied, short replies that fit what is happening: they can greet you, respond to thanks and jokes, explain when a spell is queued or waiting, and tell you when the target is already covered or needs no cure. Each Recruit has a consistent way of speaking, and repeated TAB messages no longer flood party chat.

Their server-owned spell checks and casting queue still make the decisions. Recruits speak when a requested cast starts or finishes, and explain when a queued request becomes invalid.

Recruit Chat Responses

Recruits now answer TAB requests in their own words. They greet players with varied replies and explain when a spell is queued, waiting for MP or recast, or already active on its target. They also say when they cannot find a named player or cast a requested spell.

The existing server spell checks and casting queue remain in charge.

Recruit TAB Cast Target Fix

Recruits could answer “Understood” to a Sneak request but never cast it. The queued request was looking up a player by the wrong kind of ID, so it vanished before the spell began. Recruit spell requests now keep the correct player target through casting.

The server still checks spell range, MP and valid targets.

Named Targets for Recruit TAB Requests

You can put a player name before or after a TAB spell request to ask a Recruit to help that person. Luna followed by Raise, or Raise followed by Luna, both ask for Raise on Luna. You can also name the Recruit first to choose who casts.

The server checks the named player, spell range, and normal party or alliance targeting rules before queuing the action. We also fixed a queued-spell bug that let a Recruit say “Understood” without ever trying to cast.

Recruit TAB Chat Requests

You can ask a Recruit for a spell in party chat with an FFXI auto-translate phrase, or address a Recruit by name before the phrase. Recruits answer in auto-translate, tell you when they need MP, and place a valid request ahead of their usual combat choices. Party and alliance members can ask when the spell can legally target them.

A Recruit can also answer a playful TAB phrase, and its owner can use the Full attack! and Pull back. TAB orders. Only genuine TAB tokens trigger the system.

Summoner Recruits Use Avatars for Party Support

Summoner Recruits now call an avatar when a fight or a useful party Ward calls for one. They can choose Garuda for Haste or Blink, Titan for Stoneskin, and Carbuncle for Shining Ruby, then release an idle avatar to save MP.

Their summon and ongoing avatar costs still use server MP. A low-MP Summoner releases its avatar to preserve healing MP, and a short interval prevents repeated idle summons.

Level-75 Recruit Job Reservations

Reaching level 75 on a job unlocks that Recruit job as a choice for each of your five companion slots. Unlocks are shared across your account, while each character keeps its own slot choices. You can reserve several slots for the same job, including an all-Bard or all-Summoner group.

Tank, Support, and DPS choices remain available. The server checks job unlocks when you choose a slot and when you recruit.

Brown Treasure Caskets Only

Every new Treasure Casket in Fields of Valor and Grounds of Valor areas is now brown; blue caskets no longer spawn there. The base chance for a casket remains 10% per eligible defeat, and the existing Grounds prowess continues to increase that chance.

Spawns still need observation in game after activation.
