Titan FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common Titan questions are collected here.

How do I report an issue?

Report bugs in the Support section of Titan Discord. Include your character name, server, zone, what you did and what happened. A screenshot, exact error and launcher diagnostics are useful. Report exploits privately rather than explaining them publicly.

What is Titan?

Titan is a level-75 Final Fantasy XI private server built around classic progression, with custom systems and selected quality-of-life changes for solo players and small groups. Equipment, exploration and traditional progression remain central.

What era is Titan based on?

Titan uses a level-75 Treasures of Aht Urhgan foundation, with selected later job abilities and custom features. It is not a strict recreation of every historical restriction. Later mechanics being available does not mean all later expansion content or equipment is enabled.

How do I register?

Use the website Account page and a valid email address. Titan permits one account per player and two characters per account. Complete email verification before playing.

What are the server rates?

Base EXP, combat skill-up, crafting skill-up and drop-rate multipliers are 1.0. Normal bonuses and Titan-specific rewards can still affect individual activities; a base multiplier is not a guarantee that every reward matches retail.

How many characters can I have?

Each player may have one account with two characters. Only one character may be actively played at a time.

Is dual-boxing allowed?

No. Do not control multiple characters at once or use additional accounts to bypass the one-player, one-active-character rule.

Can people in the same household play together?

Yes, when each person independently controls their own account. Contact Support if shared-network restrictions affect your household. Sharing an IP does not permit one person to control multiple characters.

Can I play solo?

Recruits can help you build a party through world Recruit NPCs or manual commands. They make many activities more practical for small groups, but do not remove mission requirements, encounter limits or the need to prepare for difficult fights.

What jobs can Recruits use?

The Recruit system includes tanks, healers, support and damage-dealing jobs. The TitanRecruitment window shows available manual job choices and their timers. Dancer recruitment is disabled. A Recruit's usable actions depend on its job, level and the encounter's restrictions.

How do manual recruitment and job timers work?

Use !recruit or the TitanRecruitment window to fill available party slots, prioritizing a tank, healer, support and then damage dealers. Unavailable role pools are skipped. You can also request a job directly, such as !war or !whm. Each successfully summoned job starts its own 30-minute cooldown, saved through logout. There is no separate shared !recruit timer. You must be the party leader and meet the area, combat and party-capacity requirements.

Can I dismiss and immediately summon a Recruit again?

Dismissing a manually summoned Recruit does not reset that job's cooldown. The same job can be called again when its timer expires, even if another Recruit of that job remains in your party. World Recruit spawn points operate separately from these manual job timers.

Can I give Recruits chat commands?

Use a supported FFXI TAB auto-translate phrase or an exact supported action name in party chat or nearby /say. Names are case insensitive. An unaddressed request lets one eligible Recruit answer; name a Recruit to ask that companion directly. Name a player before or after a targeted action to request help for them.

Human party and alliance members can make supported requests. The Recruit still needs the action at its current job and level, enough resources, a ready recast, and a legal target. Recognizing an action does not grant it.

Can parties with Recruits form an alliance?

Yes. Titan supports alliances containing Recruit parties. Recruits stay attached to their owner's party and count toward that party's six-member capacity. An alliance can contain up to three parties, for a total of 18 party members including Recruits.

Do Recruits or alliances reduce EXP?

Titan removes the party- and alliance-size EXP penalty. Other EXP rules, including level differences and eligibility, still apply.

Is Level Sync enabled?

No. Level Sync is disabled. A mission area or battlefield can still impose its own level cap; that is separate from Level Sync.

How do Fields and Grounds of Valor work?

Use a Field or Grounds Tome to select a training page. Defeat the listed targets for page rewards and repeat training. Repeat completions increase the page EXP bonus up to its cap. Treasure caskets are separate rewards: blue caskets can provide supplies, crystals and gil, while brown caskets can provide level-appropriate, unaugmented tradable equipment.

What does TitanHub do?

TitanHub is the bookmark menu for Titan's separate feature windows. Type /titan or /titanhub after character login, then choose the feature you want to open. Type /gambits to open the separate TitanGambits window.

Closing Gambits hides its window while its engine stays loaded. Closing an optional feature unloads that feature. TitanHub does not provide game-settings or frame-rate controls.

How are Gambit action choices remembered?

Your character starts with Gambits and automatic actions off. Player choices are saved by job. Turning an individual Gambit row on enables all four action types; turning it off disables them. New Recruits start with Gambits and all four action types enabled; their action switches apply to the current Recruit. Player automation still requires normal resources, learned actions and valid equipment. Player two-hour abilities remain manual.

What do WS: Melee, Ranged and Hybrid mean?

With Auto-WS enabled, Melee permits melee weapon skills, Ranged permits ranged weapon skills and Hybrid allows either. If no permitted weapon skill is usable, the AI can hold TP. This setting does not restrict weapon skills you use manually.

Can I walk through players, Recruits and pets?

TitanHub no longer changes collision and has no Collision ON/OFF setting. Its former Settings instructions do not apply to the current addons. This does not change walls, combat range or server targeting rules.

What inventory tools are available?

The TitanInventory window includes Sort, Optimize and comparison filters such as Find Duplicates and NQ/HQ pairs. It displays containers currently loaded by the client; NQ/HQ matching uses known item-family mappings. Filters help you inspect items and do not discard them. Sort and Optimize send requests to the server, so allow the current request to finish before retrying.

Where can I see mission directions again?

Choose Missions in TitanHub to open the separate TitanMissions window for San d'Oria, Bastok, Windurst, Zilart, Chains of Promathia and Treasures of Aht Urhgan progress and next-step tips. Mission notices use the Emotes channel, normally displayed in Window 2 with Titan's chat configuration. Your own chat filters can change where they appear. Tips do not complete objectives or advance flags for you.

How do I open plugin windows and recover their layout?

Type /titan or /titanhub after character login and choose a feature from Hub. Gambits opens separately with /gambits. Features open in independent windows.

The minus and plus buttons change window size in steps of 20 percent of its default viewport-scaled size. Your size choice is saved for each window. /titan reset, /titanhub reset, /gambits reset and /<feature addon name> reset restore the corresponding default size and center it. Use the Reset control inside Parser to clear its recorded results; a window reset restores its layout.

Is automation or unattended play allowed?

TitanHub is intended for attended play. Unattended combat, farming, crafting and fishing are prohibited. Having an approved addon does not exempt you from the server rules.

How many Auction House items can I list?

Titan has unlimited Auction House listings, with no automatic return of unsold items. Listings remain until sold or canceled. The game client can display listings in pages; that display limit is not a cap on your active listings. The website shows how many items are currently for sale.

Can I sell through the website and check prices first?

Yes. Sign in and select your Main Character on the Auction House page. When listing an item, the selling dialog shows its recent sales so you can compare prices, just as the buying interface does. Website requests must be accepted and processed by the game services; wait for confirmation rather than submitting the same action repeatedly.

What do the Mercantile Guild and crafting services offer?

The Mercantile Guild buys and sells eligible goods and supports its crafter NPCs. Crafting Services lets you inspect eligible recipes and review an order quote before confirming. Recipe, material and item restrictions still apply; Guild production and services retain the level-75 equipment limit. A recipe appearing in an external guide does not guarantee that it is currently enabled on Titan.

What is Fieldcraft?

Titan tracks separate Mining, Logging and Excavation mastery, up to 100.0. These activities are available from level 1 with the appropriate tools. Mastery can reduce tool breakage; it does not guarantee successful gathering or rare materials. Fishing remains a normal profession rather than a separate Fieldcraft skill.

What does Awaiting Spawn mean on the NM tracker?

A countdown estimates a tracked spawn window; it is not a promise that a monster will appear when the timer reaches zero. Awaiting Spawn means the estimated window has opened without a confirmed spawn. Weather, placeholder kills, triggers or other encounter requirements can still apply. King Vinegarroon, for example, has earth-weather requirements.

What do character-profile progress markers show?

Adventurer profiles summarize saved character data. Mission and quest flags, learned titles and current equipment ownership are different kinds of progress. Artifact and Relic collections use their documented quest and ownership rules; losing an owned piece can remove its ownership marker. Changes may take a refresh or a save before appearing on the website.

Who appears on the Leaderboard?

The Leaderboard compares eligible adventurers across achievements and tracked activity categories. GM characters are excluded. Rankings use the saved data available to the website, so a recent in-game change may not appear immediately.

Do I need an existing FFXI installation?

No. The official Titan Launcher can download the required client files and managed components. Allow roughly 15 GB for the client download, plus extra free space for installation, updates and temporary files. A repair checks the published client manifest rather than requiring a complete reinstall every time.

Where should I install Titan?

The default installation is C:\Games\TitanXI, with the game client under its SquareEnix folder. Use the launcher to select or manage the installation location. Keep sufficient free space for updates.

Do I need the Titan Launcher?

Yes. Use the official launcher for client verification, updates, managed addons and connecting to Titan. Download it from this website. The launcher also provides graphics settings, file checks, repair tools and diagnostics.

Which graphics option should I use?

Standard graphics is available without optional graphics wrappers. The launcher also offers dgVoodoo, Clarity/DLSS5 and a Custom mode for a self-managed setup. Automatic Clarity/DLSS5 installation currently requires an NVIDIA RTX 50-series GPU. Optional rendering can behave differently by hardware and scene; it is not required to play. Launcher graphics choices are shared between Titan and Dynamis.

Why are background and menu resolutions different?

Background rendering resolution controls the game's rendered scene; menu resolution controls the interface. They are separate settings. Clarity/DLSS5 setup includes a 4096 × 4096 background option, which does not mean you must use a 4096-pixel menu. Select your preferred menu resolution independently in the launcher.

Why does Windows or my antivirus flag the launcher?

The official launcher is Microsoft Artifact Signed, but signing does not prevent every reputation warning or antivirus detection. Verify that you downloaded it from Titan's website. If protection quarantines a launcher or graphics-hook file, save the detection details and contact Support before reinstalling or changing security settings. Do not assume an unfamiliar file is safe solely because a warning resembles another player's report.

What should I try if the game will not open?

Record the exact error and selected graphics mode. The launcher provides Check Files, a compatibility launch, DirectX Setup / Repair and diagnostics. Antivirus quarantine can also prevent graphics hooks from loading, including after an update. Send Support the diagnostics ZIP and detection details rather than repeatedly reinstalling without identifying the failure.

How should I protect my in-game macros?

Normal FFXI macro books are client files in the game's USER directory, separate from addon hotbar settings. Back up that directory before replacing or reinstalling a client. If macros disappear, first check the selected book and set, preserve the remaining files and report when it happened. Do not overwrite a potentially recoverable copy with a fresh installation.

How do I create, rename or remake a character?

Use the Account page to create a character and choose its name, race, appearance, starting job and nation. Rename and Remake are free account tools that require the character to be offline and email-PIN verification. Remake changes appearance while preserving the character's name, job and nation.

Why am I asked for an email PIN?

Titan uses a temporary email PIN when verifying sensitive account actions or a new connection IP. Use the PIN sent to your registered address and never share it. Contact Support if you cannot access that address.

How do I reset my password?

Use Forgot Password on the Account page. The email contains a single-use reset link valid for 30 minutes. Requesting a reset does not change your password; it changes only after you successfully submit a new one.

Where can I get help?

Use the Support section of Titan Discord. Never post passwords, email PINs or account tokens. For client issues, include your launcher version, graphics mode and diagnostics; for gameplay issues, include the character, zone and steps needed to reproduce the problem.
