World uptime: checking

Your First Steps in Vana'diel

Titan is a level 75-era server. You will need Windows, an email address you can access, and space for the Titan game files.

  1. 1. Create Your Account

Read the Titan Rules, then create an account with your email. One account per player, with two character slots.

  2. 2. Confirm Your Email

Open the confirmation email and follow its link. Check Junk or Spam if it does not arrive in your inbox. Automated emails come from support@titan-xi.com; that mailbox is not monitored.

  3. 3. Create a Character on the Website

Sign in to your account and choose Create Character. Pick your name, race, face, size, and starting nation. Characters must be created here, not inside the game.

  4. 4. Install the Titan Launcher

Use the Windows download and run the setup installer. The installer installs or upgrades the launcher under C:\Games\TitanXI.

    Windows security warning

Since Titan is a small private-server project, some browsers or Windows SmartScreen may warn that the launcher is not commonly downloaded. Make sure you are downloading directly from titan-xi.com. If Microsoft Defender reports a severe malware detection instead of a reputation warning, stop and let us know so we can continue the Microsoft false-positive review.

After opening the launcher, download the required Titan game files. The first download is approximately 15 GB. Titan uses customized DAT files for server-specific content, so use the files provided by the Titan Launcher rather than files from another server.

The launcher downloads the complete client into C:\Games\TitanXI\SquareEnix and verifies the files before enabling Play. Future checks only download missing or changed files. Download progress appears on the Play tab, and Check Files can be used to retry a failed check. You do not need a preexisting FFXI installation, and there is no Phoenix fallback.

  5. 5. Sign In and Play

Open Titan Launcher.exe in C:\Games\TitanXI. Allow its game-file check to finish, sign in with your Titan account, and check your character appears. Adjust Graphics or plugin settings as needed, then press Play Titan. Accept the Windows elevation prompt if shown.

Use the Titan launcher every time, not Ashita directly. The launcher obtains the required access ticket and closes after detecting the game window. Select your website-created character in the game.

Optional Xbox Controller Setup

First confirm Windows recognizes your controller: press Windows+R, enter joy.cpl, and test its buttons. Close the game and launcher. Download the controller setup helper, extract both files, then run Configure-Titan-Controller.bat.

The helper backs up C:\Games\TitanXI\Ashita\config\boot\titan-launcher.ini and adds only missing Xbox One/XInput entries. It keeps any mapping you already use. New profiles get padguid000 = -1, so controller selection remains automatic across USB and Bluetooth. Bluetooth button assignments may differ; use the game controller settings to adjust them.

Once You Arrive

Explore and progress normally. Titan does not apply party or alliance-size EXP penalties. Discover travel destinations before using them, and keep gil or Tabs available for travel. There is no dual boxing or party Level Sync.

Meet Recruits at world anchors. In the field, use !recruit or the Recruit button in TitanRecruitment to call for a party from jobs whose individual 30-minute timers are ready, while your group is safe and out of combat. World anchors keep their existing rules.

Once a Recruit joins, choose a spell from the game's auto-translate TAB menu in party chat to ask for help. Try {Sneak} or greet them with {Hello!}. They'll answer in chat; see how Recruit chat requests work for names and targets.

TitanHub

TitanHub and TitanGambits are included with the Titan Launcher and start hidden. After character login, type /titan or /titanhub to open Hub's bookmark menu, or /gambits to open Gambits. Choose Recruitment, Parser, Inventory, Missions or another feature in Hub to open its independent window.

Call Recruits: Choose Recruitment in Hub and click a job in the Tanks, Healers, Support or DPS groups, or type its command, such as !war. Non-GMs wait 30 minutes before manually recruiting that same job again; other ready jobs remain available, and timers continue through logout. GMs are exempt, and Dancer remains disabled. Press RECRUIT AVAILABLE JOBS or type !recruit to balance missing Tank, Healer and Support roles, then fill with available DPS. There is no shared cooldown. You must lead your party, have space and be in an eligible area, safe from combat and enemy hate. World Recruit anchors keep their existing rules.

Manage your party: The separate Gambits window shows player and Recruit action switches. Your Recruits also have Melee ON/OFF and an individual Release button. Support Recruits have two priority selections for their job's available support abilities. Recruits otherwise use Titan's server-run job AI. For your own character, the searchable Target, Condition and Action menus support up to 14 ordered Gambits.

Game settings: TitanHub no longer includes the former Settings page or Collision ON/OFF controls. It does not change frame rate or collision.

Browse and manage items: Open Inventory to search items across loaded containers, filter by container or item type, and see equipped gear and occupied slots. The gear optimization control selects usable equipment for your current main job. Sort Inventory runs the same inventory-sorting request as !sort. Both controls are inside the separate Inventory window.

Check your target and progress: Info presents information about your current enemy, including configured loot and Treasure Hunter estimates where available; special or scripted rewards can differ. Parser tracks party and alliance damage over a rolling 15 minutes. Experience shows recent EXP and limit points, their sources and an estimated hourly rate.

Make windows comfortable: Drag a title bar to move a window. The minus and plus buttons change its size in steps of 20 percent of its default viewport-scaled size, preserving its proportions and keeping it within the viewport. Each window remembers its size. The top-left arrow collapses it. Use /titan reset, /titanhub reset, /gambits reset or /<feature addon name> reset to restore that window's default size and center it. Closing Gambits hides its window while its engine remains loaded; closing an optional feature unloads that feature.

TitanHub assists you while you actively play. Unattended combat, farming and other automated progression are prohibited. For Recruit spell requests through party chat, see Recruit chat requests; for recruitment details, see the Recruits guide.
